What is Zponk?
Zponk is a mining protocol for ZEC through a web wrapper. Built via ponsdotfamily.
How do I start?
Open the mining desk, connect your wallet, switch to Robinhood Chain when prompted, and sign the round authorization message. Choose an engine and press Start mining.
Does it really use my GPU?
Yes. WebGPU runs the SHA-256 search on your graphics card. The browser identifies the GPU when that information is available. CPU mode is also available.
Can I control the load?
Power changes the work/rest ratio of the search. It is not a reading of total GPU utilization. Lower it or stop the search whenever you want.
What is the browser searching for?
A candidate nonce whose SHA-256 hash meets the round target. Each challenge includes your wallet address and a random server seed. The server checks found proofs.
Is this native Zcash block mining?
The web wrapper runs its own SHA-256 proof-of-work challenges for ZEC on Robinhood Chain. It does not validate native Zcash blocks.
Do I need to install anything?
No separate mining app is required. Open the desk in a browser with WebGPU support, or use CPU mode.
